Holland – or the Netherlands, as it is known – are located in Western Europe officially, bordering the North Sea, Belgium, and Germany. It’s waters also boundary the UK as well as Denmark and Norway.

Famed for many things, not least of most of its social tolerance, clogs, and windmills, Holland has a lot more than an assortment of stereotypes to provide visitors from all around the globe.

1. Amsterdam

If you’re planning a trip to the Land of Tulips, then where better to begin your trip than in Amsterdam – the Netherlands’ capital city and a diverse cultural hub of activity. It guarantees and provides something for everybody, whatever your likes. It offers of canals steeped ever sold, galleries, beautiful parks and gardens, a tour of the Royal Palace and the infamous Red Light Area, where prostitution and cannabis are legal and the latter is sold in espresso homes.

2. Windmills

Okay, so it might be a stereotype, but no visit to Holland would be complete without enjoying one of the country’s most well-known and glorious qualities. Situated in the chilled-out Dutch countryside, especially (but surprisingly) in the windmill region, you can see old windmills that produce for the perfect postcard. You can find 19 World Heritage windmills of Kinderdijk, which are the country’s best. These are either round or octagonal and some are open to visitors.

3. Cheese
Situated in the north of Amsterdam, the town of Alkmaar is well-known for having conserved the 17th century of a pattern of canals. However, they have has its place on our list because of its fantastic cheese market -kept on Friday mornings in the summer and starting at the split of dawn. The selling process requires hand-clapping, while purchases are occasionally taken off by porters on ornamental carriers. The marketplace closes at midday, but don’t allow your visit to end there. A walk through the old town is a must, with many of the houses more than 100 years old.

4. Keukenhof Gardens

If you wish to get garden envy, visit the Keukenhof Gardens south of Haarlem. The Gardens consists of miles of…gardens. Every flower known to mankind is available and the areas of tulips and colors will temporarily blind you. If Buddha returned to the earth, that’s where he would make his home. You are able to actually spend times just traveling taking in the visual treat. Once you see it, you’ll never look at your backyard the same way again.
